A bank-to-bank way to pay, straight from a buyer's own banking app. Wero is rolling out to online checkouts across Europe, and on TinyVendor it needs nothing new from you beyond a Mollie or Stripe account you may already have.
Wero is the retail payment product of the European Payments Initiative (EPI), a venture set up by a group of European banks and payment processors to build a homegrown alternative to card networks and wallets from outside the region. Rather than holding a balance or acting as a currency, Wero moves money directly between bank accounts using SEPA Instant Credit Transfer — the buyer authorizes the payment in their own bank's app, and the funds move in seconds. It launched first for person-to-person transfers in 2024 and has since been extending into retail checkout, market by market.

Brussels, Belgium
EPI was formed in 2020; the Wero wallet launched in 2024
A group of major retail banks and payment processors across the eurozone
Around 56 million registered users regionally, including roughly 1.8 million in Germany
Euro (EUR) only, settled over SEPA Instant Credit Transfer
For a seller with buyers in Germany or Belgium, Wero meets them somewhere they already are — their own bank's app — without asking them to type in a card number or sign up for a new wallet.
Wero is not a gateway you apply for on its own. It is offered as a payment method inside Mollie and Stripe, so you need one of those already connected — or set one up first, using our Mollie or Stripe integration.
Wero e-commerce is currently live for buyers in Germany and Belgium. France is in pilot ahead of a planned autumn 2026 general rollout, and the Netherlands (as part of an iDEAL migration) and Luxembourg are expected to follow later in 2026.
Log in to Mollie or Stripe and enable Wero under payment methods. There is no separate application, contract, or credential to obtain — it is a toggle on an account you already hold.
Wero runs on SEPA Instant Credit Transfer and only settles in EUR, so it only shows up on sell links priced in euros.
Once Wero is switched on at the PSP, it appears automatically as a checkout option for eligible buyers. TinyVendor never asks you for a Wero credential, because there is not one.
Add your Mollie or Stripe account under payment settings in TinyVendor, the same way you would to accept cards.
Enable Wero inside your Mollie or Stripe dashboard. There is nothing to set up on the TinyVendor side — no separate gateway, no new credentials, no code.
Set a price in euros and a description, same as any other product. Your existing PSP connection carries Wero along with it automatically.
Post it, message it, or drop it in an email. There is no hosted checkout to build yourself, and the link works the same from a phone as from a desktop.
Where Wero is live, eligible buyers see it as a checkout option, confirm the payment in their own bank's app, and the SEPA Instant transfer settles in seconds — you never see or store a card number, so there is no PCI scope on your side.
TinyVendor marks the order paid as soon as your PSP confirms it, your buyer gets a confirmation email, and you can see the whole thing from your phone without touching a spreadsheet.
Wero is a bank-backed account-to-account payment scheme built by the European Payments Initiative (EPI). It moves money directly between bank accounts over SEPA Instant Credit Transfer. It is not a currency, a card network, or the digital euro.
